Today's small 70 km loop

Everyone was pretty stuffed after yesterday's huge ride.

Today we rode "only" a 70 km loop but someone stuck another Col in the middle of it as well as another 6 km climb back up to our ski village.

Got back early enough to watch the final 100 km live on Eurosports and what a stage it was. We were all cheering for Cadel and what ticker to take 1st wheel and drive the chasing small GC group after Andy Schleck up Galibier. Very special as we had ridden Galibier only the day before and knew it intimately. It starts off at 5 to 7% but has a wicked kick over the last few kms but at least the snow had melted for them.

Our gently 70 km loop still had 1300 m of climbing but the best part was coffee. We stopped twice to gulp Espresso standing up at Bars and would you believe for Euro 90 cents which is about AUD 1.10. Fair Dinkum - how cheap is that.

I even had a chance to upload the video footage showing the ascents and the beautiful sweeping descents and the ever present mountain vistas.

Tomorrow is another massive day with numerous ride options culminating with watching the finish on the Alp D'Huez which we also rode yesterday.

In case you missed it, Wade included some pics in his blog too of our ride yesterday. Great compositional shots.

Note how prominently we feature in it.

I also saw a few tweets from pros who suffered today. Don't know how they'll manage tomorrow as it seems just as hard as tomorrow from what I experienced riding those same climbs.
